The Lord has been speaking to me about abiding in the rest of God. Not just entering but abiding in His rest. Living from a place of rest. The definition of abiding - to continue in a place, dwell in that place. God is saying to us make rest our home. Build an Ark of rest that others can enter.
He reminded me of these scriptures in Hebrews 4:9-11.
“There remains, then, Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.”
Notice It said here we have to enter the rest, no one can do it for us, there is effort required to enter His rest. Resting from all striving in this current season is a prerequisite to overcoming in this season.
One of the most difficult things to do amid turmoil is to rest. Rest is not something that comes naturally to humans we love to be busy. Rest is not the absence of stress.
Rest is a powerful spiritual weapon that has the ability to overcome anxiety, fear and reasoning.
Remember we have a covenant of peace. That means God has sworn his peace in blood it will not be removed. “Though the mountains are shaken and the hills are removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace is removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” Isaiah 54:10
Things may be shaking around us but this type of peace is not dependent on your circumstances it cannot be shaken or removed. Our ability to overcome is directly associated with our ability to abide in rest.
We abide in rest by surrendering to peace , every promise of God must be surrendered to. The covenant promise of Peace is no different everything might be screaming fear in your life but make the decision to surrender to peace.
We don’t wait for peace to come to us we surrender to the person of peace, the Prince of Peace who lives on the inside of us. A transformed mind is at rest and basks in the peace of God.
The decisions that lay ahead in this season call for us to abide in rest. Rest brings clear vision, a clarity of vision is important in this era a lack of rest causes confusion and irrational thoughts and decisions. Our focus needs to be fixed on what lays ahead God is requiring us to be present and awake in this hour. We rule from a place of rest.
2 Corinthians 13:14 “Now may the grace of God, the love of Jesus, and the sweet communion of the Holy Spirit, rest, rule, and abide now, henceforth and forevermore.” Amen.
