Prophetic Whisper | Times & Seasons

The Lord has been speaking to me about Times and Seasons.

“He changes times and seasons” - Daniel 2:21a

When God shows us something cool that He wants to do through us, we get excited and immediately want to start doing it NOW!!!

Not everything God shows you is supposed to happen immediately, tomorrow or next week. Most often, when God shows you something major He is calling you to do, there is a season of preparation that follows.

I love this scripture,”our times are in the Lord’s hands and he makes them beautiful.” Our Father placed eternity in our hearts so we have a builtin desire to see our future established.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” - Ecclesiastes 3:11

Most people are so scared of missing God’s timing they don’t step out when God is wanting them to fulfil their destiny.

God wants to break the lie over your life that says your “In danger if you are Out of Gods Timing”. As an older Christian I was told many times you don’t want to create an Ishmael. Basically they were saying you don’t want to disappoint God. Impossible God is not disappointed when we step out he is so excited that your passion and obedience is driving you towards your promise.

We don’t serve a three strikes and your out kinda God, we serve a loving Father who really is not angry or upset with us when we are trying to walk out our purposes from God.

He is excited and cheering us on.

As far as timing goes I believe we learn through stepping out even if the timing or season is wrong. God is not going to smash us for loving Him so much that we tried to obey Him but the season was wrong. Instead, what I have experienced is our lovingly God became my safety net over and over again.

As humans we plan our lives, but the LORD establishes our steps. Prv 16:9

On a personal note, times that we tried to venture out in ministry too early, God truly did bless us and use it as a learning experience.

He didn't chastise us or ridicule us. He didn't leave us on our own. He rewarded our passion for Him and helped us get back in the right place for that season. Our Father is establishing our steps.

Here are a few helpful things that may determine the seasons and timing of prophetic words or promises for you. Always keep in mind no one gets things right 100 percent of the time.

My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me. - Psalm 31:15

Don’t you love that our times are in God’s hands.

Firstly make sure that your promise or word from God is confirmed by other sources. You will find the closer you are to the timing or season of that promise it will start being confirmed more rapidly.

That’s always a good indicator you are close.

Secondly take a few steps towards your prophetic word, calling or promise and see what happens? If you are at peace and things start falling in place great, you are probably in the right timing. If things are stressful and hard then maybe you need to take a step back and reassess the situation.

Thirdly live and learn. Mistakes don't mean you're necessarily in disobedience to God. I believe there are times when God makes room for our mistakes because it is part of training us and causing us to grow in discernment of seasons and timing.

Try all of these things and then do this one very important thing “ASK GOD,” sounds easy but often we are so busy discerning the times we forget to simply ASK GOD is this the right time for me to step into your promises.

You may not get an answer straight away but I believe you will get an answer as you wait upon the Lord. Hold this word in your heart “God is hearing our prayers and showing us favour in this time.”

For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.”I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”2 Corinthians 2:6

I am praying over those who read this that you will hear clearly as you seek God for His timing. Amen
